Established in 2018, the College of Data Science and Software (SDSS) Engineering is a new college divided from the former College of Information and Electronic Engineering. We boast an experienced and forward-thinking faculty dedicated to teaching and research. The school now has over 2000 students, of whom 50 are from overseas.
We offer seven majors to undergraduates:
Software Engineering (provincial Advantageous and Characteristic Major and Top Undergraduate Major)
Digital Media Technology
Internet of Things Engineering (one of the first emerging IT majors in Guangxi)
Computer Science and Technology (enrolling overseas students)

In collaboration with the College of Electronics and Information Engineering, we have jointly established a provincial Top Discipline of Information and Communication Engineering and a professional master development project of Information and Communication Engineering.
In terms of facilities, our college serves as the key platform of IT research and innovation for East Guangxi with first-class laboratories:
Laboratory of Image Processing and Intelligent Information;
Provincial Key Laboratory of Industry Software Technology;
Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Laboratory of Software Engineering;
Microsoft IT Academy, the training center for 10000 local IT talents;
We attach great importance to cultivating students’ practical innovation abilities. Our students are among the top in Guangxi with numerous first, second and third prizes in various national contests: CUMCM (Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling), Undergraduate Computer Design Contest, Software Specialist Design and Development Contest, ISCC (Information Security and Countermeasures Contest) and National College Competition on Internet of Things. We have positioned ourselves to play a leadership in developing high-level talents in IT application for the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt and our annual graduate employment rate exceeds over 90%.
Innovation and entrepreneurship are also emphasized in our college, as is demonstrated in our fruitful projects of undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship: 10-plus national ones and 20 provincial ones are approved every year. Our students also won plenty of awards in national contests for science and technology works and innovation.
