College of Foreign Languages

The College of Foreign Languages was established in April 2018, after the College of International exchanges was restructured. There are 5 faculties of the College: English, Business English, Translation, and English General Education. The College has 3 bachelor programs: English, Business English, and Translation. In addition to English, the School is also equipped with staffers capable of teaching Thai, Japanese, German, and Vietnamese. The College has a diverse teaching staff: some staff members come from renown universities in China, some from universities overseas, and some others are foreign teachers. There are 68 full-time teachers in the College, among which are 13 professors or associate professors, 55 lecturers.

The College is committed to produce workforce with international vision and skills, knowledgeable in English, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, German and their cultures. A specialized workforce that is capable of speaking fluent languages, communicating across cultures, thinking critically, making innovation, assessing national conditions.

To supply the society with workforce, the College has built a teaching model featuring "foreign languages + specialized skills + internationalization". This model is highly specialized in that it focuses on learning through practice and emphasizes basic skills and comprehensive competence. In recent years, the College has been revising its education plan. Reforms has been conducted in ideas, courses, teaching contents, pedagogy, and assessment systems. The College 's "all-phase immersion" teaching system is characterized by the integration of theory learning and practice, in-class and after-class practice, language competence and specialized skills, all-phase directives and step-by-step training, in-school training and social practice. Throughout its history, School of Foreign Languages has participated numerous contests and achieved remarkable results.

The College is constantly upgrading its facilities. It currently has 6 digital language labs, 1 multimedia virtual language lab. The international business virtual lab built in 2017 has been in use for some time, adding more functions to the labs: business negotiation, reading-listening-speaking training for business English and so on. The lab serves as a platform to train students’ cross-border e-commerce skills.

The College has signed 8 companies as its internship and employment bases. Those companies cover a spectrum of businesses: e-commerce, human resources, gems, transportation and so on. The College also has internship bases abroad, Naresuan University and Huachiew Chalermprakiet University.

College of Foreign Languages is working hard to comprehensively improve its teaching skills. It encourages its faculty to compete in all kinds of teaching contests. In preparing for those contests, teachers improve their skills along the way.

The College has its unique management system built in place to regulate students' political awareness, learning sentiment, employment, and daily life. The College has multiple training programs: college student virtue program, mental and physical health program, courteous behavior program, learning awareness program, teaching skills program, English language skills program, career planning program, and employment program, all of which have achieved remarkable results. Its students excel at abiding by the law, behaving themselves, learning efficiently, pursuing further education, and attending activities.

In recent years, the College has improved its teaching quality and exerted greater social influence. Its “foreign languages + specialized skills + internationalization” teaching model is well received by employers. Also improved are the application rate of English and Business English programs, enrollment rate, graduation rate, further education application rate, and employment rate. The employment rate of its graduates has constantly stayed above 95% in recent years. Its graduates are well received by employers and the society for their comprehensive abilities and great skills.
